3.4 Break-in Period

3.4.1 To break in the gearboxes, run the engine at 50% of full throttle for the

first 2–4 hours. This will prevent premature wear and extend gear life.

NOTICE: Running the engine at full throttle during the break-in period

could result in premature gear failure.

3.4.2 Verify that the horizontal blade pitch links are properly assembled.

When seated on the machine, the right rotor should have an “R”

designation located towards the upper portion of the pitch link and the

left rotor should have an “L”.

3.5 Before Starting

Before starting the trowel, check the following:

• fuel level

• oil level in the engine

• condition of the air filter

• condition of trowel arms and blades

Grease the trowel arms daily.
